Bright Lights Big City...

This past weekend we were off to NYC. Scott has worked incredibly hard this year and he was rewarded with a trip to NYC. It was a short trip, but it was nice to get away and explore a city that neither one of us had ever been to before. The weekend was planned for us with activites and it was a great way to see the City in the short 48 hours that we were there. Here are a few pictures to capture our great trip...
John Lennon Memorial in Strawberry Fields

Entrance to Central Park Times Square at Night

Times Square
Cathedral Church of St. John the Devine - largest in the WORLD
The Courthouse from Law & Order ;)

iPad 2 :)

After 10+ days of little to no sleep...we FINALLY got he iPad 2!! The day we finally got the iPad 2 Scott was the trooper that got to the Apple Store at 6:45 am. As you can tell by this picture, he was tired! ;) Thanks Scott...

March Madness...

Scott's favorite time of year is MARCH. It's tradition to take Thursday and Friday off during the NCAA tourney to spend with his guys and watch Basketball all day. It has also become tradition for me to get away and have a girls weekend. This year, I ran away to Chicago with my Mom and we visited Bridget. It was so nice to relax and have some girl time with my Mom and sister. Sorry, no pictures from that weekend...I spent all my time shopping :)

Mama J needs to Party too...

This is a very delayed post but worth it. On Friday, March 11th we celebrated Jessamy's Birthday with a trip to our new favorite restaurant, Francesca's. Then began a little bar tour around the Capital to help Jessamy celebrate like she was 21 again. It was a amazing time. We had a blast...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA!!

Scott's Birthday...

Happy Birthday to my best friend! This past weekend started the Birthday celebration for my hubs. Jim, Linda, and Amy came to visit us. Scott wanted to take his family to The Village Green to sample his favorite burger. Then we spent the afternoon "birthday shopping" (You know you are getting older when you ask for new patio furniture for your birthday ;). Amy brought http://sprinkles.com for all of us to sample for Scott's Birthday. We made red velvet cupcakes, wow, so delicious! Then it was time for the big birthday feast. We went to our favorite Steak House - Tornado Room. Here are some pictures to capture the weekend full of family and fun...

Sugar...

This year lent is coming early for me...Scott has been trying to convince me for YEARS to cut back on my love with sugar. I'd usually just laugh it off and eat another bite of candy. Sadly, my husband's advice over the years never set in. Last week in my boot camp class I had my measurements taken and a fat test completed. My trainer convinced me to stop eating sugar...and it finally hit me and it opened my eyes to the effects sugar has on my body. My obsession with candy, sweets, desserts, marshmallows...and more...it needed to stop. So, as of last week I quit cold turkey...no more sugar for this girl. No more candy. I will continue to carry this "sacrifice" into the season of lent. We'll see how this goes...

Queen or King?

We finally made a decision!! We decided to keep our Queen bed and get new bedroom furniture. After all that, we still have to wait 8-10 weeks while our Amish bedroom furniture is hand made. We are so excited to finally have some quality bedroom furniture for once. I can't wait to share a picture of the finished product...but you'll have to wait ;)

Here are a few of the sample pictures to give you an idea...

Friday Night Fun with Krew

No Hockey game on a Friday means we finally get to have a fun low key Friday night with the neighbors. We went over to The Rogstad's house and Scott got to spend some quality time with baby Krew. We grilled out, had a few beers and margaritas in honor of Krew, and then played a hilarious game of Scattergories. We had an amazing time with our friends and new parents. Krew even stayed up late and played games with us. It was a perfect night in the neighborhood. Thanks Rogstad's!

Paulaka 2011 :)

Over the weekend we started Paulaka 2011. Bridget came to town and the celebration was kicked off with a fun family dinner and a movie on Saturday night. The celebration continued on Sunday with a delicious brunch at The Great Dane. Mom's Birthday was on Monday and many offices, including Bridget & Casey's, observed her Birthday by giving their employees the day off. Unforunately her employer didn't observe her holiday ;)...the celebration isn't over yet...so keep on celebrating Mom :)

Valentine's Day...

After many days of teasing Scott with surprises it was finally time for me to unveil my big plans. I told Scott to be ready to leave the house on Saturday morning by 10:30am. He had no idea where we were going. He kept begging me to tell him but I managed to keep a secret. If he would have co-operated I would have blind folded him. We pulled up to RZ & Company (the same place I get my hair done) and he started to get worried. Finally as we were walking inside I had to give him a clue. He guessed right away that we were getting a couples massage. Scott was a little nervous to say the least. After the massage he confessed that he really liked it. I was so happy that he enjoyed it.

I continued the day of surprises with a trip to Scott's favorite Burger place in Middleton, WI.

Then we continued the fun day with a trip to my brother's apartment to watch the Badger Basketball team beat the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes. Here is a picture of the post-game celebration after the students rushed the court.

After the game Scott took over with the surprises. He made a reservation at Francesca's al Lago. It's a new restaurant in Madison off the Capital Square. We have been to Mia Francesca's in Chicago with my sister before. It was soooooooo yummy! By the time the real Valentine's Day arrived we continued our annual tradition...a Rocky Rococo's heart shaped pizza. Scott surprised me again with a wonderful Valentine's Day surprise, my favorite purple tulips, candy, and an extra special treat in a blue box with a white ribbon ;) What a great day!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone :)
