Runaway Saturday...

The house was full of boys, basketball, beer, and burgers...so we escaped...to Schaumburg! Nana Rosa, Gampy Mike, Harper Rose, and I jumped in the car on Saturday morning to visit with Bridget.  Our priorities were Portillos and shopping of course...and we did just that ;)

 Hi Mom :)

Harper, Kirby, and I are all excited that the opening weekend of March Madness is over.  The house is clean, the boys are gone, and we get a short break from basketball. Scott on the other hand, is in mourning today ;) HAHA

Until next week!

MARCH MADNESS!

For many people, including my husband, today is like Christmas morning.  It's the start of the NCAA Tournament - March Madness.  Our house is filled with men, wings, beer, and loud cheers.  Four days of chaos and excitement for these guys.  Enjoy your "Spring Break 2013"!

Harper is excited for the tourney.  She is sitting in her Daddy's recliner and she has control of the remote.  She couldn't be happier :)

Rewards, Promotions, and St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the O'Hinrichs!

Last week was an exciting week at the O'Hinrichs house.  All of Scott's hard work from January/February finally paid off.  He won a rewards trip to Savannah, GA at the end of April.  We will be attending the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf . This coincidentally is the week before my Birthday, thanks Scott for an awesome Birthday present :)  The same day Scott found out about his reward trip, I was promoted.  I will now be taking over the closeout business for Remington Products.  I will focus my time on Closeout Accounts while maintaining my previous position and responsibilities.  As a result I will be traveling more.  First trip - NYC!

We had a wonderful weekend at home with our little family.  Scott is busy preparing for March Madness this week.  Harper and I are preparing to sneak out of the house and get away from the "madness" that will be taking place.  Hopefully there is little to no news to report next week from our house ;)

Birthday Weekend...

On Friday night, Nana Rosa (Paula) and Grandpa Mike watched Harper while Scott, Adam, and I attended the UW Hockey game.  (Carissa was supposed to come but she was sick) This was a special series as it was back at the Coliseum for the first time since 1998.  When I was in High School college hockey was played at the Coliseum.  State Hockey was also held here along with my College graduation.  The Coliseum isn't located on the UW campus, so that means you can drink at the games.  The one downfall, you have to drink in a "beer garden" and there is no view of the ice.  So, we took full advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity during periods,  and then rushed back to our seats to watch the game.  It was a lot of fun.

Scott's family arrived late Friday night after the hockey game.  We celebrated Scott's Birthday and managed to have a very relaxing weekend.  To celebrate Scott's birthday he requested Tornado Room, we took Harper and she had a blast playing with the bread sticks and flirting with the other guests at the restaurant!

Thanks to everyone for helping to make Scott's Birthday extra special this year.  We love you all!

Scooter is another year older...

Yesterday was Scott's 34th Birthday.  So much has changed in the past year.  Last year we were just figuring out how to be parents and take care of our little newborn.  This year our little Harper was able to celebrate with her Daddy.  It's a different experience as we celebrate Birthday's in our house.  My love for my husband continues to grow each year.  He continues to amaze me with his sense of humor, big heart, selflessness, hard work, and his unconditional love for our family.  Scott, we love you more than you will ever know! Happy Birthday to our favorite man in our house...you might be out numbered but I don't think you'd want it any other way! :) Cheers to another year!

We went to the Nitty Gritty (Scott's tradition) for his Birthday celebration.  Harper was such a trooper, she only had one nap and was very tired.  She managed to stay out until 8:00.  She drank an entire cup of milk.  She is getting more independent and is so proud of herself.  The picture below was taken on Uncle Casey's phone while she was driving the car (video game).  She had a blast and crashed the minute we got into the car.

A big thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate Scott's Birthday.  He's a very special guy and you made his Birthday...if only the Badgers could have played better/won :(

Harper's FIRST Trip to Bridget's!

This past weekend we traveled to Chicago.  I had to attend the Housewares Show at McCormick Place on Saturday and Sunday.  Rather than traveling by myself for work, I decided to bring the whole family.  While I was working Scott and Harper played at Bridget's condo.  This was a perfect "business trip" in my mind, my little family traveled with me AND we got to see Bridget! I wish all business trips were like this one :)

 Lola Meatball watching TV!

On Saturday night we went to Shannan & Tim's condo.  Tim and Scott were in the same fraternity in college.  I was so excited to watch the slideshow from Shannan & Tim's wedding (this was the wedding Bridget attended 2 weeks ago when we were watching Lola).  When Harper went to bed we played a new game with Shannan, Tim, Bridget and Jacqui.  I don't think I've laughed that hard in years.  I didn't take any pictures, but a picture wouldn't have captured how much fun we had! Thanks Shannan & Tim for hosting!

We left Kirby back in Madison to play with some furry friends.  She was SO tired when we picked her up that she fell asleep in the car on the 5 minute ride home.  Kirby rarely sleeps in the car because she gets really stressed out, so I had to snap a picture...

Lola Meatball, Portage, and silly Harper

Last week we had the pleasure of dog sitting "Lola Meatball".  It is always a treat to have Lola at our house. Kirby is an old lady, and Lola is a young pup so when Kirby is tired and Lola wants to play it doesn't always end well.  It's funny to watch them run around the house together.  Kirby even let Lola snuggle in bed with us one morning. Kirby was sad to see her friend leave but I think she was thrilled to catch up on her much needed beauty sleep.

On Saturday, February 23rd we took a trip to Portage.  Gampy Mike, Nana Rosa, Uncle Casey, Scott, Cara, and Harper jumped in the car.  My Mom's parents live in Portage so we went to visit Harper's Great Grandparents.  Great Grandma Rosemary makes the BEST spaghetti and meatballs.  We were still celebrating "Paulakuh" and that was my Mom's favorite meal when she was growing up.  Harper enjoyed playing the piano and flirting with Great Grandpa Paul.

Harper is mastering her sippy cups.  She recently became obsessed with her water bottle.  She was so proud of herself while playing before bed.
Peek-a-boo! She put this plastic bin on her own head and couldn't stop laughing. (a quick picture and then the distraction technique to avoid this habit from repeating itself)
Harper was so excited to wear her new shirt from her Uncle Casey! I LOVE MY UNCLE!
