Sara, Sonoma, & San Fran...

Back in August we went out to San Francisco for one of my bestest friends weddings. Sara's wedding was on the California Berkeley campus on August 7th. We stayed in Emeryville with Caitlin and her boyfriend Scott (yes there are 2 Scott's). After a disaster in the airport we arrived at almost 6am, only 8 hours later than planned. Caitlin and I helped Sara put together flowers for the big day. Then we met our boys for some afternoon beers. Friday night we went into the city (San Fran) to celebrate one last hoorah with the bride-to-be. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and Sara did an amazing job planning. We gave Sara an Essen Haus boot and managed to drink from it all night. Sara looked stunning and I've never seen her happier.

The next morning we woke up and drove to Sonoma. We did various wine tastings along to the way to our hotel. Scott and I are rookie wine tasters so it was a treat to have Caitlin and her Scott along to help educate us on the grapes, different wines, etc. We went to an Italian dinner in Santa Clara that night. On Monday we drove back to the city and toured Fisherman's Wharf, walked the San Fran hills, and managed to stumble across China Town, Little Italy, and downtown San Fran. We stayed at Sara and Jeff's apartment and went to the Giants vs. Cubs game on Monday night. They only live 3 blocks from the stadium. We managed to see "Beige", one of Scott's friends from High School. A big shout out to Scott's sister, Amy, for hooking us up with the amazing seats behind home plate/visitors dug out. We had an amazing time celebrating with Sara and Jeff and touring the bay area. Congrats to the newlyweds. We can't wait to see you very soon!

Twins, Target Field, & Twenty Ten

2010 marked the first time in 27 years since the Twins played outdoor baseball at home. The new stadium, Target Field, is amazing with spectacular views of the City. We've been incredibly fortunate to make it to 2 games so far this season. We saw the Twins beat the Brewers in extra innings in May and we also saw the Twins beat the Tigers in June.

Easy to get to...hard to leave

That is the Alexandria saying. It's very true. Easy to get to (despite the 6.5 hour drive) but it's extremely hard to leave. So far this summer we've spent 3 weekends in Alexandria. The first trip was on Father's Day weekend with Katie & Logan. Then we went up for an additional 10 days to spend time with the entire family for the 4th of July. It was the most amazing and relaxing vacation. Here is a small sampling of the pictures taken so far.
